Description

Jewelry Television® is seeking seeking a highly effective Public Relations & Communications Manager to join our stellar team at Jewelry Television (JTV) in Knoxville, TN.  The PR/Communications Manager is responsible for developing and executing strategic communications that align with business objectives, increase brand awareness, and both promote and protect company reputation among consumers, employees, media, and the public. In this role, the PR Manager/Strategist will be responsible for:

  • Effective planning and execution of integrated communications strategies and planning.
  • Crafting various communications (e.g., media pitches, press releases, speechwriting talking points, etc.).
  • Identification of target media, relationship management and ongoing media outreach, monitoring of relevant industry and consumer media, identification of trends and opportunities, and reporting.
  • Development of dashboards and reports; analysis of successes and opportunities.
  • Quality execution of work in all areas on time and within budget.
  • A consistently superior work product.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Plan and implement public relations programs, events and initiatives, including maintaining timelines, vendor lists, budgets, etc. 
  • Develop integrated communications for current and existing products, launches, campaigns and promotions.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to brainstorm/gather relevant information in order to produce compelling content for media materials, events and integrations.
  • Develop and produce high-quality, informative, and interesting pitches, press releases, press kits, and related materials.
  • Assess media opportunities and make recommendations to management.
  • Produce talking points, interview responses, Q&As, speeches and other communications support and reference materials.
  • Oversee external agencies, services, tools, or other partners. 
  • Maintain excellent relationships with media and influencers.
  • Develop and implement crisis communications counsel and messaging, as needed.
  • Measure and provide reports on each PR campaign, as well as weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports and dashboards.
  • Organize promotional and media events, press conferences, desksides, tours and exhibitions.
  • Manage media requests for samples, including pulling product and/or coordinating with partners/vendors, overseeing items that have been loaned and/or gifted, monitoring for coverage, etc.
  • Create and manage PR budgets, projects, media deadlines, objectives, and content calendars.
  • Implement and maintain PR policies and procedures.


Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, PR, Journalism, Marketing or Business.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in public relations, media relations or communications. 
  • Proven track record in designing and executing successful PR campaigns with demonstrated national and regional results.
  • Strong organizational, project management and event planning skills.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and verbal communication skills. 
  • Aptitude for presenting and public speaking.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
